Privacy Policy

What information is collected and how it may be used

Hearth Bangladesh collects and preserves personal data provided by participants and other associates in the Stetson Competition or other Hearth Bangladesh sponsored programs.  The collected personal information may be used to process your Stetson Competition applications; to communicate with you in the future; to send e-mail alerts and updates to you; to answer your requests; to provide you with opportunities to support our work more directly through donations; etc.  You may choose to opt out at any time, which will cease all communications from us, except if you are currently participating in the Stetson Competition, in which case we have a legitimate interest in communicating with you regarding the Competition.

IP addresses

Hearth Bangladesh may use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server, to administer hearthbangladesh.org, and for statistical metrics used to track website visitor traffic.

Cookies

hearthbangladesh.org uses “cookie” messages to automatically help provide better services. They remind us of who you are and your preferences for our website based on what you have done and told us before. You can reject cookies or cancel them by instructing your Web browser accordingly.

Non-commercialization of information

Hearth Bangladesh do not sell or rent email addresses or personal information to anyone outside the organization.

External links

hearthbangladesh.org may include links to external websites. These links do not fall under the hearthbangladesh.org domain, Hearth Bangladesh is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of external websites.

Modifications

We may amend this privacy policy from time to time; please review it periodically. We maintain the option to modify this privacy at any time by electronic notice posted on our website. Your continued use of our website after the date that such notices are posted will be deemed to be your agreement to the changed terms. Harassment Policy

Policy with Respect to Sexual Harassment

All participants in Hearth Bangladesh programs, including the Stetson International Environmental Law Moot Court Competition (Stetson IEMCC), are expected to understand, to respect, and to abide by the following Policy Regarding Sexual Harassment:

1. Hearth Bangladesh does not tolerate sexual harassment of any kind. That includes unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and/or verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature.  Hearth  Bangladesh will not permit any of its programs to create an intimidating, hostile, humiliating, or sexually offensive environment for our staff, volunteers and participants. 

2. Every person involved in Hearth Bangladesh programs is covered by this Policy. In the Stetson IEMCC Competition, judges, coaches, competitors, coordinators , organizers, and volunteers must refrain from conduct that is inconsistent with it. We believe that everyone who plays any part in an Hearth Bangladesh program is entitled to do so in the confidence that he or she will not be subjected to sexual harassment in violation of this Policy.

3. We will do everything in our power to address every instance of alleged harassment that is brought to our attention. We encourage all members of the Hearth Bangladesh community to feel that they are welcome to report such matters, and that their reports will be taken seriously.  

4. Reports alleging sexual harassment should be made to the Director, Discipline and Public Outreach, or to the coordinators. Reports may be made in confidence, and all members of Hearth Bangladesh, are instructed to respect requests for confidential treatment of such reports. Allegations should not be discussed or disclosed to individuals or groups outside of these channels.

5. All allegations of sexual harassment will be investigated. If a complaint cannot be resolved informally, the Executive Director of Hearth Bangladesh is vested with the authority to appoint three disinterested individuals to conduct an investigation and to recommend a resolution, including any remedial measures that might be necessary.

6. If Hearth Bangladesh determines that an individual has engaged in a violation of this Policy, we may counsel the person or restrict his/her participation in future Hearth Bangladesh events. 

 

 

Photo disclosure:

By registering for the Bangladesh  Rounds of Stetson IEMCC you authorize ‘Hearth Bangladesh’ and the global organizers of Stetson IEMCC, its designees, licensees, and assignees (“Stetson”) to take photos and video and make any other type of recording of you, your written and spoken work, the faculty advisor, and any and all persons or guests affiliated with your team, during the 2025 National, Regional or Global Tournaments and to reprint, transcribe, edit, excerpt from, or otherwise include any and all material from such event on the Hearth Bangladesh, Stetson University websites, any other websites or social media connected to Hearth Bangladesh, Stetson, and in other promotional, educational, and commercial materials prepared by Hearth Bangladesh, Stetson for distribution internally and externally anywhere in the world, and to use your name, voice and image in connection with the foregoing. If you do not agree to the foregoing, you may decline your consent only by contacting the Stetson coordinators in writing at moot@ihearthbangladesh.org.  Any and all disputes arising out of this release will be governed by Bangladesh and U.S. Copyright Laws, the laws of the State of Florida, whichever applicable.

Please make sure to review the information submitted in this form prior to continuing with registration. Information submitted in this section may only be modified in accordance with the Official Rules and through the Hearth Bangladesh Executive Office.

 

 

Liability of the participating institution:

For the actions of the individual team member(s) of the participating institution found to be contrary to the policy and spirit of the Stetson IEMCC competition, the institution can also be held accountable both at the national and international rounds. For any violation of the disciplinary rules, Hearth Bangladesh and Stetson IEMCC preserves complete authority to impose any sanction including banning the institution from any future Hearth Bangladesh programs and competitions.
